Social distancing is critical to avoid saturation of healthcare systems

Updated: Mar 24, 2020

We can no longer contain the virus spread and vaccines are months away. We need to focus on slowing down the virus' spread, reducing effects on health care systems, and saving lives.

Social distancing, avoiding close proximity between individual is the best defense against COVID-19, and bring an opportunity to work differently.

Europe is now the epicenter of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to epidemiology experts up to 50 or even 70% of the population of countries like Germany or France could be infected with the disease.

While it might not be possible to completely stop the disease, simple measures like social distancing are critical to flatten and slow down the infection, preventing a saturation of healthcare systems due to the capacity in ICU beds and artificial respirators.

In this context, over-reacting is better than under-reactin.

Social distancing, avoiding close proximity between individual, will slow down the spread and save lives.

It is also a great opportunity for companies to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies to maintain contact between teams and with customers.

So let's follow experts guidelines, take this as an opportunity to trust each other and use technology to work differently.
