Updated: Mar 24, 2020

Study published in the British Medical Journal links 10 years of UK economic austerity to damage on nation's health, life expectancy stalling and increased inequalities.

10 years after the publication of the famous "2010 Marmot Review, Fair Society Healthy Lives" addressing health inequalities in England, coauthor Michael Marmot explain the situation has become worse.

According to the authors, the past years have been market by deteriorating health and widening health inequalities. People in more deprived areas have seen their life expectancy stalling, even declining for some, while it has increased in more advantaged areas.
